Our ears are delicate, intricate and ear problems including hearing loss can occur due to environmental conditions, bacteria, trauma, congenital disorders and tumours. Our ears are a complex system where it changes sound into mechanical and electrical energy. Conditions affecting the ear can be classified into those affecting the inner, middle or external ear, or a combination of these. |

Sleep & Voice Snoring Problems

Snoring can cause tension in a relationship because the person that suffers the most is the bed partner. Snoring occurs from poor muscle tone in the tongue and throat, the redundant soft tissue in the neck, enlarged tonsils or adenoids and obstructed nasal airways. These are just a few of the more commonly known conditions that affect snoring. Apnea is the cessation of breathing at night causing hypoxia to the brain. Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a common disorder characterized by repetitive episodes of nocturnal breathing cessation due to upper airway collapse. When ignored and untreated, OSA can cause serious health problems. These problems include high blood pressure, heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, stroke and depression. |
